Fumigation & Buffet

Hi guys,

Got up at 7 to be ready for the fumigation guys to come on in between 9 and 11.
Yes, our house has a bit of a termite problem so we had to box up all the
medications, skin care, food, etc and take it over to my grandma's house. We
didn't have to, but just to be safe I packed up all of the baby's toys too. The food we did leave at home we had to double bag and tape like crazy. Look how
empty the pantry and fridge look!

Here's a photo of our lovely tented house!

The guys had to put these signs up around the outside of the house. Just in case someone comes along and decides it'd be a good idea to try to break in. The guys were late. Not by much, but maybe ten after. I mean they DID have a two hour window o-o

This was our first stop. Tried to get a photo where you guys could see the temperature, but I kind of failed at that . . . Anyways lol It read 102! Have you guys been to Bakers?

Home of the Alien Fresh Jerky store! Weird huh?

We stopped in Bakers for potty break and lunch. I think we always stop and
get Taco Bell but could just be my bad memory. I ain't complaining though because I am a fan! My dad noticed the napkins were set up a little bit differently than usual. Cool? After lunch we were back on the road!

Welcome to Nevada peeps! Not a bad photo for being in a car going 75 mph right?

Okay so you are probably asking "ALG why am I looking at an orange building?" Well friends, it's an ongoing joke. A few years ago we were in the car and my brother and I pointed out the building to my mom. We told her look at that orange building! By the time she looked we had passed it, but she kept asking what orange building?? So every time we pass it we can't help but laugh for a good handful of minutes.

On the side of the Rio we saw Penn & Teller! (Foreshadowing? *wink wink*)

We always go to two beef jerky stores. Here's one of em. Mom picked up some foodies for the family and friends back home.

Have you guys ever seen a Denny's as yellow as this one? Me neither lol I had to take a photo.

Slotzilla! It's new I think.

Cute little Asian cartoony peoples >.< They kind of reminded me of Sarah. This is for you Sarah!

Every time we come to Vegas we eat at Makino-Sushi & Seafood Buffet. Let me warn you all now that I ate a lot of food . . . don't judge me (or not too harshly if you do)!!

First plate. Started with edamame and a variety of sushi.

Got a bowl of miso soup. What's so cool about it? They have a machine that dispenses it! Then you add your own onions, seaweed, tofu, etc. I love that because I HATE the green onion they always have in the soup. If you've ever gone out to Japanese food with me you've probably witnessed me picking em all out lol

Plate 2. Went back for more sushi. My dad said the salmon was really good so figured I'd give it a try. I should have listened to my instincts and not tried it. Not for me.

Took a break to try to crack crab legs for my mom. My brother was supposed to do it, but he chickened out. After all that craziness I got out a nice big piece of meat and shredded pieces (top lil pile).

Plate 3. Needed some veggies so went for cucumber, green beans, and tempura broccoli, sweet potato, and pumpkin (if you count them). I tried both noodles (left) and their fried rice (right). The sweet potato was cut so thin it was nice and crisp yet still soft. So yummy!

Plate 4. Dessert time!! Just six. Pfuit, not that many right? Starting on the left back, blueberry mousse cake, orange mousse cake, cream puff, green tea roll with azuke bean center, almond cookie, and
brownie.

Plate 5. Fruites! Need something healthy right? Refreshing break from all the sweets.

Plate, well bowl 6. The final round! Red bean ice cream with almond cookies to make it less boring lol

Like the license plate we saw in the parking lot?

I can proudly say that I wasn't over stuffed. I did eat a lot, but hey it's once a year if that! Plus the diet doesn't start till next week!

ps. all the Vegas posts were written between the 21st and 23rd, but uploaded when I got home.

~Victoria's Secret Luck~

Hey there!

I went to Victoria's Secret yesterday in search for a very specific item. I went a little over a week ago with my mom and found the perfect bikini top! The only thing was that it was too expensive. Of course it was the LAST one in the store. It didn't even have a tag. On top of that, it wasn't being sold online any longer. Silly me didn't get it and the other night I couldn't sleep because I regretted it so much. When I woke up yesterday I called VS to try to describe the top to the girl over the phone. I mean that's the best I could do since there was no tag for me to get information from! She said that it must have gotten sold. Told myself it just wasn't meant to be. I still wanted to find a bikini top that fits my top well so headed on over to VS.

I don't know what it is about this store, but I either spend less than five minutes or over an hour in side. If I happen to spend over an hour in the store I feel bad for the person that I managed to talk into going in the store with me. If you are reading this and have been that person my apologies and thank you! I walked through the bikini sections grabbing everything I think would work for me. It's so discouraging when a bikini top doesn't even come small enough for me -.- Went to the dressing room to try on six different tops in hopes that one would fit me right. Two were too big, one just didn't look right, one looked cute but made my chest look smaller than it is, and the other two just didn't work. That's when the bra specialist came by asking what she could do to help. I described the specific bikini top I saw over a week ago and she actually knew exactly what I was talking about! She said she hasn't seen it in a while but would go find me some similar ones to try on. I asked her if she could measure me because it's been a while since my last sizing. I was surprised when she said I'm a 29 when I've been wearing a 32. Bras don't come in 29, but that's what I am. Or so she says. Out of all the different bikini tops I decided to go with this one because the style is unique and I just love the colors!

I was standing in line and when I was next in line the bra specialist came running to me saying "look what I found!" I turned and was so surprised. She had found the bikini top I was told over the phone was sold! I took it to the dressing room and tried it on real quick. I just LOVE it! Simple black but the gold square studs makes it more edgy. Plus it is a push up, not a crazy one, but still. She found it in a random bikini top rack hidden inside another bikini top! I'm just so glad she found it. I was contemplating putting the other top back, but I knew I'd end up regretting that.

The thing about bikinis is that you have to find the perfect top then try to find a matching bottom. I decided to try Target instead for cheaper bottoms. After looking through all the racks I found these two! The one on the left shows a ruched back and the right has a woven like hip detailing. Not a huge fan of the placement of the ruching, but it matched my bikini top.

So now let's talk prices since VS is always so darn expensive. The blue wrap top is priced at $36.95 and the black is priced at $46.50. Luckily for me VS was having a sale! Plus I signed up for their Angel Card so I saved $15! With the discount and $15 off the blue wrap top was $12.38! The black ended up being $34.88! The black bikini bottom was $14, but the blue was on sale for $4.48! I am not used to spending so much for a bikini, but not bad after the sales and all!

The only thing I wasn't crazy about when it came to the blue top was the very minimal padding. Still looked good, but I had an idea. I have some old bras that just sit in my undie drawer so I decided to put one to good use! Here it is all cut up. Used my sewing scissors to cut off the straps and bands.

See the difference in the pads that came with the top and the bra cups below them?

Here's the end result! Can you guys see the difference between the first photo of this top and this one? Only problem is the under wire creates creases, but I don't mind em. Now what? Time to get working out so I can feel like I deserve to wear these babies!

Revolving Sushi

Hi guys,

The other day my friend and I went to a few Asiany clothing shops. We were both a bit hungry so we decided to get sushi. I don't do a lot of sushi because I don't eat most of the different sushi creations out there. Apparently I've been to revolving sushi before. My mom says I have. I just don't recall I guess.

He and I ended up at the revolving sushi bar near Ontario Mills.

It's so cool! He said it takes about 6 minutes for a plate to make it's whole trip around the belt. I had four plates. Reminds me of my sister. I imagine she eats more than four plates though lol Sesame balls, masago x2, and tamago. I eat the egg and rice separate . . . am I weird?

He ordered two of these Philadelphia rolls and told me to try it. I stared at it thinking I don't eat raw fish, crab, or avocado. The only components of this that I would eat would be the cream cheese, nori, and rice. I surprised myself though and tried it. Took me a while to convince myself to try it, but I think I liked it! Crazy because of what's in it. Not sure if I'd order it for myself though because one small piece felt like enough for me. Maybe the next time I go to a sushi place I will try something new!

Goodbye Red Bluff

Morning friends,

It is now 2:22 in the mornin! Yea I should probably be asleep. Last Red Bluff trip post though! I had to leave the city of Red Bluff Wednesday afternoon. Schatzi stopped by this sign so you guys can get an idea of how small his home town is. Tiny right? My city here has around 150,000 people! Big difference between where we each grew up. I didn't want to leave. Before we got in the car Schatzi, his mom and I were doing last minute chatting. Don't think there will ever be enough time for us to talk because we enjoy chatting so much!

Schatzi drove me to the airport. During the twoish hour drive I dozed off. A few times . . . Snacked on the kettle corn that was meant to be eaten while watching the movie the previous night. Got to listen to a comedian on the radio (I think). It's weird. When most normal people would laugh at jokes I find that I smile and some times shake my head instead of laughing. Not that I don't find it funny, I just don't laugh. I don't know. Maybe I'm just weird! I can drive with one hand, but not for very long. Schatzi on the other hand is more than capable when it comes to driving with one hand. Lucky for me because I got to hold his hand! His hands are quite a bit larger than mine so I was able to hold his hand in mine and put my other hand on top of his too. That was when I did most of my dozing off. When I wasn't using both hands to hold his I found myself rubbig his arm. I don't normally stare at his arms, but I found myself having trouble looking away from his arm. It's like I had to drag my eyes away. His arms are muscular, hairy, nicely colored always, and just so perfect to be honest with you guys. Having so much time in the car to stare at his arms while he had to look at the road made me realize how I take such simple things for granted. That's one thing I need to work on. Can arms be sexy? lol Because that's the word I would like to use to describe his arms. Such manly arms too. I enjoyed being able to hold his hand for so long. We hold hands often when we are out, but I felt extra warm and fuzzy inside. I was close to dozing off when we were exiting off the freeway.  My heart sunk a little.

Got out of the car, said my goodbyes, and into the building I went. I didn''t get very far when I heard my name. I was surprised to see Schatzi running in to me. He was holding me phone. Can you imagine if I had forgotten that?!

For those of you that have never been to the Sacramento airport these are the trams/trains that transport people to security.

After getting through security I decided it would be a good time to grab a bite to eat. Garlic knots, marinara dipping sauce, and a sweet black tea. Also ate more of my left over gummy worms while watching AprilJustinTV!

Waiting for them to let us board the plane.

You guys know how in the back seat pocket there are magazines? Well look what I found! Who knew lol

Then in the other catalog I saw this funny dog jacket. I think my dog would hate me if I made her wear this in the rain.

During the flight I got peanuts, pretzels, and a beverage of choice. It was hot, but I wanted hot chocolate. Look how cute the cup is! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the heart shaped stirrer in the cup. I felt special >.<

This time on the flight I got to see beautiful white clouds outside my window. Arrived 8 minutes early to Ontario and my trip was over.

La Corona Dinner Date

Hello again,

Schatzi and I love to go out to eat. It's not because of the food, although food is great! We love to simply go out to eat and just spending time with each other.

He chose Tuesday evening as our date night and look! Maybe not terribly obvious, but there IS a rainbow in this photo to the right. I love rainbows and it felt special seeing it on the way to our dinner date.

So Schatzi always gets his favorite nachos, nachos ponchos, at La Corona. He has been talking about these nachos since the first day we talked! Can you believe that? Goes all the way back to Gas Lamp! Do you remember talking about em babe? Been a while. I finally got to see the famous nachos! Look at that plate of yummy goodness!

You guys see that little bit of shirt? Ever since the first time I've seen it on him, I've fallen in love with it. The whole outfit. Not sure what it is about that blue plaid shirt and khaki/brown shorts but I just love it! You guys should see him in it if you haven't already. He looks so handsome :)

When I go to a Mexican restaurant I always ALWAYS get the same thing right? My rice, beans, and tortillas. This time I tried something new! Got a chicken taco salad! I am not a fan of sour cream but told Schatzi I had been craving it lately. I normally avoid ordering any type of chicken when I go out because I am so picky, but this chicken was tender, tasty, moist, soft, simply delicious. Inside the taco bowl shell was beans, shredded chicken, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. I've had taco bowl shells before, but this one was different. In a good way! I couldn't stop eating it! I think if my tummy were bigger I'd have eaten my whole meal. Schatzi was a sweetheart and got me a box so I could take what I didn't eat back to the house.

This is the outside of La Corona. Schatzi's brother wasn't kidding when he described it as the green building lol

I saw this sign and could not leave without snapping a photo! Do you guys know what movie it's from? Not the exact sign, but the name Bargain Barn.

Toward the beginning of my stay Schatzi had pointed out this clock tower. Only thing is that I never seemed to have my camera with me when we drove by it. Here's a photo I managed to snap as we drove by on the way to dinner. Schatzi said we could go back after dinner! Don't have anything like it here so I enjoyed admiring it's beauty.

On our way to Schatzi's favorite store. He hates Walmart!
He spent a great deal of time listing out all the reasons as to why he dislikes Walmart. After hearing all his reasons I totally agreed with him! I don't mind Walmart but I feel ya Schatzi. He pointed out how no employee ever knows where any specific item is located, the aisles are too small to fit two carts side by side, they have piles of products in the main aisles blocking the way for customers, feels dirty inside, and the employees never seem happy.

The theater in town is members only and there wasn't anything we were really wanting to see so Schatzi had the brilliant idea of wandering over to Walmart to check out the new releases.

Chose Lone Survivor and snacks! He said we should at least have movie type snacks available if we get hungry. I am a fan of kettle popcorn and Schatzi wanted butter (I think. Or was it salted?). He likes movie theater popcorn. I picked out gummy worms and Schatzi got Buncha Crunch!

When we were on the way back Schatzi pulled off to the side of the road so I could take a quick photo of this deer crossing sign. I probably laughed too hard at this sign.

Thought the sky looked nice. That red line is part of the rainbow. I know it kind of looks like glare though.

We got home, took showers, chatted with his mom, and headed out to the trailer to watch our movie. There's something about being in pjs on the bed watching a movie with Schatzi that's relaxing. He asked me to fix up his nails since it had been three weeks since I last did em for him. I file em down and put a simple clear coat over. This time he asked for them to be a bit on the short side since it'll be another three weeks at least before I get to see him again. It's nice knowing that by me showing his nails some attention that he can feel a bit pampered. The movie was pretty good. There were these times they threw themselves off these cliffs. Man that was crazy. It's not like they slid down the side. They literally threw themselves off the side and when bouncing down it seemed lol I had to kind of look away during scenes where people were getting badly hurt. Overall good movie.

I enjoyed our date night. Nice simple relaxing evening. I think Schatzi and I are the type of couple that get satisfaction from just being in each other's company. Again soon enough, three plus weeks.
