Hey there!
I went to Victoria's Secret yesterday in search for a very specific item. I went a little over a week ago with my mom and found the perfect bikini top! The only thing was that it was too expensive. Of course it was the LAST one in the store. It didn't even have a tag. On top of that, it wasn't being sold online any longer. Silly me didn't get it and the other night I couldn't sleep because I regretted it so much. When I woke up yesterday I called VS to try to describe the top to the girl over the phone. I mean that's the best I could do since there was no tag for me to get information from! She said that it must have gotten sold. Told myself it just wasn't meant to be. I still wanted to find a bikini top that fits my top well so headed on over to VS.
I don't know what it is about this store, but I either spend less than five minutes or over an hour in side. If I happen to spend over an hour in the store I feel bad for the person that I managed to talk into going in the store with me. If you are reading this and have been that person my apologies and thank you! I walked through the bikini sections grabbing everything I think would work for me. It's so discouraging when a bikini top doesn't even come small enough for me -.- Went to the dressing room to try on six different tops in hopes that one would fit me right. Two were too big, one just didn't look right, one looked cute but made my chest look smaller than it is, and the other two just didn't work. That's when the bra specialist came by asking what she could do to help. I described the specific bikini top I saw over a week ago and she actually knew exactly what I was talking about! She said she hasn't seen it in a while but would go find me some similar ones to try on. I asked her if she could measure me because it's been a while since my last sizing. I was surprised when she said I'm a 29 when I've been wearing a 32. Bras don't come in 29, but that's what I am. Or so she says. Out of all the different bikini tops I decided to go with this one because the style is unique and I just love the colors!
I was standing in line and when I was next in line the bra specialist came running to me saying "look what I found!" I turned and was so surprised. She had found the bikini top I was told over the phone was sold! I took it to the dressing room and tried it on real quick. I just LOVE it! Simple black but the gold square studs makes it more edgy. Plus it is a push up, not a crazy one, but still. She found it in a random bikini top rack hidden inside another bikini top! I'm just so glad she found it. I was contemplating putting the other top back, but I knew I'd end up regretting that.
The thing about bikinis is that you have to find the perfect top then try to find a matching bottom. I decided to try Target instead for cheaper bottoms. After looking through all the racks I found these two! The one on the left shows a ruched back and the right has a woven like hip detailing. Not a huge fan of the placement of the ruching, but it matched my bikini top.
So now let's talk prices since VS is always so darn expensive. The blue wrap top is priced at $36.95 and the black is priced at $46.50. Luckily for me VS was having a sale! Plus I signed up for their Angel Card so I saved $15! With the discount and $15 off the blue wrap top was $12.38! The black ended up being $34.88! The black bikini bottom was $14, but the blue was on sale for $4.48! I am not used to spending so much for a bikini, but not bad after the sales and all!
The only thing I wasn't crazy about when it came to the blue top was the very minimal padding. Still looked good, but I had an idea. I have some old bras that just sit in my undie drawer so I decided to put one to good use! Here it is all cut up. Used my sewing scissors to cut off the straps and bands.
See the difference in the pads that came with the top and the bra cups below them?
Here's the end result! Can you guys see the difference between the first photo of this top and this one? Only problem is the under wire creates creases, but I don't mind em. Now what? Time to get working out so I can feel like I deserve to wear these babies!

Lol, those bikini tops look amazing! It was nice that the bra specialist was so enthusiastic. Haha, I'll probably steal your idea about fixing the bikini top ;)
